Additional Information:	Sheikh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari was the author of several Malay kitabs but the most prominent was Kitab Sabil al-muhtadin.This kitab was written circa 1192 H/1777 AD on the request by Sultan Tahmidillah of Banjar. Other kitabs written by him include Tuhfat al-Gharibin, Nuqtat al-Ajlan, Kitab Faraid and Kanzul Ma`rifah. He was very close to the ruler of Banjar from an early age due to his intelligence and family connection. This particular text was copied by Abdul Rahim in 1264 H/1898 AD. Hence, the papers used for writing this kitab with the watermark a crescent with human face in a shield was made probably sometime toward the end of 19th century.
